“A problem shared is a problem solved.”
This week’s quote comes from Kate Carnell’s post on LinkedIn. It’s one that stands out to me for a variety of reasons. It speaks to a collective body even outside of this post.
When I think about the activities I’ve always gravitated towards, they’ve been opportunities where I’m part of a team. Where I could be inspired by others and inspire others. Maybe this is why growing up I focused on team sports more than individual ones.
There is something to be said about uniting with a team to solve a problem or achieve a single goal. The collective voice is louder than the individual voice. This quote’s interesting to me for a lot of reasons, but in today’s society there’s a lot of “I” and “me.” When we see movements that really take off they change the conversation to be “us” and “we.”
We’re unique and that should be celebrated, but when we can unite we should. One person is not going to change the world, the organization, the [INSERT BODY OF PEOPLE HERE], but together multiple people can. It’s not always fast, but when people come together and focus on a common goal change happens and that’s truly magical.
