“Data needs a story. And that doesn’t start in a spreadsheet, but in our imaginations.”

This week’s quote comes from Ben Jones, the Global Creative Director, Unskippable Labs, Google. I saw it in the Google recap of Cannes.

It’s a quote that stands with me and makes me think about an interview I once had. I often describe myself as a storyteller and creative that practices data-driven techniques. In an interview for a digital role to supervisor pushed me to discuss this in more detail. I enjoyed answering this question and think that the two are not at odds, but can complement one another nicely.
